What you will need
Your needs usually fall into two categories.

Domain name |
A domain name is your unique internet address—for example, mywebsite.com. It’s what people type to find you. What you can do with only a domain name:

Web hosting |
A web hosting account is the space on a server where your website files live. If you want to run your own website under your custom domain, you typically need a web hosting account. What you can do with domain mame + web hosting:

Domain name vs web hosting
A domain name gives you a unique internet address—for example, yourdomain.com—that makes it easy for people to view your website online. It also allows you to create an email address—for example, [email protected]—to encourage user interaction.
Having a server that runs web and email services is not enough. All servers are identified with an Internet Protocol (IP) address, which are all numbers, such us 120.50.40.40. However, we don’t want to tell our friends to visit our website at http://120.50.40.40— because that’s too tedious—so we use domain names.
With a domain name, you can uniquely identify yourself and share your website address with people more conveniently.
